Good News!! I Made a Sale of 4 of My Dragan Style Photos

Good news! I forgot to mention that I made my first official sale off my website that generated me an actual profit (I've made other sales on my smugmug site but they were at wholesale cost to friends...no profit).

The sale was to the lovely mother of my lovely friend Tiffany. Her mother purchased the Andrzej Dragan style photos of Tiffany's 2 sons to hang in their bedroom!

The 4 Dragan Effect Style photos can be seen in this blog post from a while back. More Dragan effect information and a tutorial can be found on there as well.

Yay! An actual sale of my work!! It worth all of the time spent on the Photoshop post-processing on those photos!

I will be sure to snap pictures of the photos (mounted in frames on the wall of their room) once they are hung so I can share them here on my blog.

So exciting!

More of my Dragan Style photos can be seen in this gallery: http://www.jenweaverphotography.com/gallery/3907308_QE5cy/1/236338979_e3adt

More Edits... "Deep Thoughts" Series

Love the smile in this one :)

I like the close up shots for a lot of this shoot. I wanted to get right in there and show the details because I feel that deatils like this can really speak to you.

I also like unconventional compositions....if you can't tell that already!

I did the same shot with the dragan effect/dragan technique. Once method of doing this technique can be found by CLICKING HERE. It definitely gives a "dark side" feel to a normal photo. I don't know why I like the technique...I just think it's fun to create someing that's totally different that the norm.

I captured another smile! See, they weren't all so serious during our serious session: :)

I think you might be able to see a pattern forming here....I really love the KUBOTA Photoshop Action (mentioned HERE) that produces this look! I've used it quite a bit of times throughout the processing of this photo shoot and I keep wanting to use it on ever photo! (I seem to get caught in repetitious behavior like that with my post processing....I guess it's like the flavor of the week for me!)

I really wanted a gritty feel ...(as a friend of my best described it...they have a Film Noir feel to them).

And the last post of the day for the blog is the last photo I processed today:

Dragan, Dragan, Dragan - The Dragan Effect

Last night I took some fun photos of the kids after portraits and when I got home I tried this technique called the Dragan Effect named after a famous photographer Andrzej Dragan. Check out his work HERE.

Last night's creation:

Then I spent tonight making these:

I think this one is the best of the night:

Oh...and one more I just finished:

These two boys provide me THE BEST poses/faces for this kind of work!

Here is a great DRAGAN EFFECT tutorial that was recommended to me. It's very in depth and does a good job explaining "how to" step by step:

Family Photo Christmas Shoot

My friend asked me to take some photos of her and her 2 sons because her mother wanted to use them as Christmas cards so I went there tonight and shot some quick photos for them aroud the house.

I'm excited that my website host started offering holiday cards for customers.

This is probably the "keeper" shot ... they just have to finalize the card type our of the 36 varieties.

I like this one too...

I liked how this one came out as well:

And I couldn't resist this one of my friend:
