Sisters JoAnn & Jessica

I grew up with JoAnn and her little sis Jess...

JoAnn and I are still friends after all these years and Jess isn't little anymore. She's all grown up and they are both beautiful! I can't believe how much Jessica looks like Ashlee Simpson with dark hair.

Jess works for a band who is definitely going places and she's going on tour with them for her job with merchandising. So so exciting!!!

And JoAnn is my lovely photo assistant! I don't know what I would have done without her on the last 2 shoots!

JoAnn asked if I could do a photo shoot of the two of them after work today and I was happy to do so.

Some of their favorites (and mine too):

MOM! Yes, That's My MOM!

Today I got to take my Mom's portraits in my "makeshift" home studio.

A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts. ~Washington

When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child. ~Sophia Loren, Women and Beauty

The heart of a mother is a deep abyss at the bottom of which you will always find forgiveness. ~Honoré de Balzac

I cannot forget my mother. She is my bridge. When I needed to get across, she steadied herself long enough for me to run across safely. ~Renita Weems

Mother love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible. ~Marion C. Garretty, quoted in A Little Spoonful of Chicken Soup for the Mother's Soul

Youth fades; love droops; the leaves of friendship fall; A mother's secret hope outlives them all. ~Oliver Wendell Holmes

My mom is a neverending song in my heart of comfort, happiness, and being. I may sometimes forget the words but I always remember the tune. ~Graycie Harmon

Mother - that was the bank where we deposited all our hurts and worries. ~T. DeWitt Talmage

Mother is the name for God in the lips and hearts of little children. ~William Makepeace Thackeray

Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, comrades and friends - but only one mother in the whole world. ~Kate Douglas Wiggin

God could not be everywhere, so he created mothers. ~Jewish Proverb

The tie which links mother and child is of such pure and immaculate strength as to be never violated. ~Washington Irving

It's not easy being a mother. If it were easy, fathers would do it. ~From the television show The Golden Girls

The best conversations with mothers always take place in silence, when only the heart speaks. ~Carrie Latet

Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother. ~Oprah Winfrey

No gift to your mother can ever equal her gift to you - life.

I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me. They have clung to me all my life. ~Abraham Lincoln

A mother understands what a child does not say.

The photo below was us at the end of the session. After 2 hours of helping me clean my house she still sat for portraits with a smile. Isn't she just a beautiful mom?

Yes, she is. Inside and out!

A daughter is a mother's gender partner, her closest ally in the family confederacy, an extension of her self. And mothers are their daughters' role model, their biological and emotional road map, the arbiter of all their relationships. ~Victoria Secunda

Me, Myself, and I

That's all I have...me, myself, and I...Unless I find some more "photo subjects."

If you weren't sick of me yet - you will be now. LOL!

I took this photo recently after I was outside in the snow (hence the winter hat). Natural light was coming through the window so as usual I figured - "why not?"

For the following photo I ran a number of the "Totally Rad" Photoshop Actions on them.

Same as the photo above but I cropped it:

This one is not one of the "Totally Rad" Actions - It's called "Rob's Bleaching Action" found HERE.

Be Prepared...There's A Whole Lot-a Me

It was one of those days... This is me (again). Wish I wasn't lacking people to photograph.

Not a happy-face session as you can tell but that's what I was going for.

The eye was taken indoors with natural light. The rest were taken outside in the direct sunlight. Normally I wouldn't want the blown highlights but for this self-portrait session I wanted it. You don't always have to follow the "rules" to make a statement.

More With Lee

Finally got back to editing the photoshoot of my pal Lee. I know...you're saying "there's more?" and the answer is yes. Quite a few more to go through and edit.

Lee was a patient subject and even though the time flew by I took a lot of shots. The reason why it's also taking so long is because these photos (in my opinion) are filled with a lot of emotion and I feel the need to try multiple post processing effects until I find the right one for the photograph.

One of my FAVORITE EDITS today! I love how I made Lee's eye look!!

Since Lee is a writer we decided to do some shots with his trusty blue notebook.

Lee also wanted a shot showing the area where her lives so we took this shot with is pup Elliot Igby.
