More fun at A * DOCK

Saturday night I headed back down to "A Dock" to hang out with Tara & Adam, Adam's brother & fiancé and a handful of the their friends.

They bought me special pink wine coolers - LOL! I felt so special *giggle.*

It was a beautiful day weather-wise and when it gets cold at night on the water we break out the blankets and this time Adam broke out a mini heather for me & Tara's feet..... *Awwww so sweet!*

I love how Tara's eyes look in this photo - shot with the Nikon 50mm

Adam entertained us by playing some songs on the guitar.

I swear I only had 1 wine cooler! LOL!

We got pizza delivered right to us at the dock. Adam said it makes him feel special that they bring it right to you there! LOL

I had a great time and will hopefully be back here again very soon!

"A Dock"

Today I spent the day with Tara and Adam at "A Dock." It was a beautiful day with beautiful friends.

Adam was kind enough to take some of Tara and I through the day and I totally trusted him with my camera LOL!

Tara:

Adam with his wonderful Christmas present (the D40x) that I helped Tara pick out for him. Yay a budding photo enthusiast to talk cameras with! I shared some of my lenses with Adam to take them for a test spin. :)

Tara checkin' out Adam's photos on the D40x and me showing them how well the sb800 bounces off the boat awning.

She's so lovely!

With a beautiful May day like this and a good time with friends what more can you ask for in life?

Oh, how bout a beautiful sky to end the day??

Another AWESOME sunset...and my last "after work photo hunt" until spring

Today was my last chance to take some photos after work with the time change on Sunday. I didn't have much time for daylight when I was at the park so I took some shots of the fall colors reflecting in the lake and some fall leaves:

Then at the park I managed to capture some of the sunset:

After the park I decided I would head home...but...before that I ended up making more stops along the way (I just couldn't help myself when I saw the way the sky looked today because of the sunset over the canal...oh my...)

When the sun finally set I snapped this one before driving the rest of the way to my house. It's the barn that I love ...although it's hard to tell what it is..I like it though..it's really DARK!

The Most Magical Time of the Day!

Today I was asked to shoot some photos of my company's VP, a Senior Director at a competitor company, the Mayor of the town I work in as well as the Township Administrator.

The Women's Leadership Group at my company is holding a 5K run/walk to raise money for a new ambulance for the township where our office resides and these company leaders will be participating in the run/walk.

This photo will be in the local newspaper soon (I'm not sure of the exact date of publication). Once it's published I will scan a copy and post it here in my blog.

This is one I liked most from the shoot today:

While driving home this was the scene over my favorite stretch of farm land to catch great clouds or a sunset. The warm orange glow feels so "fall" to me!

Another beauty from today (click to view larger):

A little "fall reflection"

I have more to add so check this post tomomorrow...I'm just so tired I can't add the rest from today! :)

Here the ones I promised I would add that are favs from the day:

Chasing Rainbows!

Driving home today I spotted what looked like a piece of a rainbow in the sky as I was coming off the highway (and of course I decided not to bring my Nikon with me to work today).

I couldn't wait to get to my favorite open field to try to capture it (even though I only had my little Canon Powershot with me...but it does a good job). I was afraid that by the time I got off the exit ramp it would be gone!

Unfortunately the rainbow didn't come out in the photo as I saw it with my eyes but a lot of time that is the case with these types of things.... The rainbow formation is to the left in this shot:

Even though I couldn't capture the rainbow as I saw it you COULD NOT BEAT THIS SKY!

"Hi my name is Jen and I'm a sky and cloud addict"

Since there was such a great sky I stopped at one of my common photo spots along the canal and took this shot. I love the darkness of the trees, the shine of the water and the beauty of the sky.

The next thre from along my ride how is where I got a little crazy. I loved the The next three from along my ride home is where I pulled over for a 3rd time on the side of the road to get these shots. I just keep thinking that people must think I'm nuts when they see me standing next to my car on the side the road....but you know what? I don't care! LOL!!

Chasing the Sun

Left work pretty late today...so as I was driving past my favorite farm fields for great cloud shots I just had to stop to capture the sun that was setting.

The rays of sun were shining from the clouds beautifully...but by the time I stopped my car and got my camera out the scene didn't look exactly as I had seen it while I was driving..but I captured what was before me and I still think it was beautiful!

The trees were blocking my view of the actual sun going down so I hoppped back in the car to another area where I could see the actual sun a little better and I got a few neat ones in that area.

A Few Special Ones From Today

I stopped by the park after work. With fall here it's getting too dark too soon for me! Had some trouble with the light...but still caught a few nice shots.

A couple favorites were these 2 fishermen at opposite ends of the lake. They just looked like they really enjoyed this time time alone...

I was able to see a beautiful sunset. It was hard to catch it how I would have liked with the trees being where they were but I still like the results:

I tried something different with this one through the weeping willow branches:

I chased the sunset all the way home trying to see if I could find a large clearing where the sunset was viewable but had no luck.

There's always another day and another sunset though!

Today's Festivites

I added my friend's baby shower today (8/18/07) and I appointed myself party photographer! I got some wonderful shots of the day of all of the party attendees as well as some that I felt "photojournalistically" captured the day:

On the way home from the party I spotted an amazing sky that I just had to capture so I found a place to pull over and got some wonderful shots:
