Deep Thoughts...

Today I visited my friend Lee who lives in New York City. We agreed we'd do indoor portraits today and I had a blast practicing with him.

Since I don't have studio lighting I brought 2 hardware store style clamp lights with 60 watt flourescent bulbs in them. I also had the Gary Fong Lightsphere on my SB800 flash with the opaque cover over it. I used my black muslin fabric backdrop and we rigged it up on a wall.

The tone of the photoshoot was on a more serious note and it took on a "deep thoughts" feel so that's why I titled the photo session that.

I did a lot of close-up compositions during the photo shoot and a lot of the shots involved hands. I've only worked on a few edits so far tonight so these are some that I'd like to share....

A different B&W Conversion showing some shadows:

Another conversion of the one above with the Platino Action:

And more more:

I'll be editing more of the many shots I took at this photo shoot so be on the look out for more!!

I really love the ones I've seen. The lighting looks really good in these too and I love the mood he is projecting. Great job, Jen!

The first image is my favorite. Hands can be very expressive and intuitive. As you know, I focus on hands quite a bit. Sue
